I have a 38 year career in which I have held a number of operational and senior functional roles, culminating on the operational executive. I have held senior positions with British Airways, Credit Lyonnais and Guardian Royal Exchange. The last 23 years have been spent working as an organisational effectiveness and leadership consultant.

Since 1997 I have had the privilege of collaborating with senior leaders in well know blue-chip brands across the globe. I am very values driven and have an unquenchable belief that every enterprise is ultimately a human enterprise and its success or failure is dependent on releasing and transforming potential into true performance. In all my professional activity I have tried to balance the rigour of sound theoretical underpinning with the pragmatism and agility that competing in the 21st century demands of organisations and people.

 

I am very interested in how organisations nurture their cultures as a true asset in business performance, to develop engaged and committed enterprises. I am also interested in how the disciplines of coaching support and extend the performance impact of development initiatives.

 

The world of coaching is constantly changing so my philosophy is that in order to coach effectively, coaches need to use frameworks that include multiple coaching models and modalities so that coaches can address the multiple contexts and purposes of the coachees in their care. I believe this means that as a coach I can’t remain fixed about how to approach my profession and need to remain open and constantly learning. I am a member of the Association for Coaching and the European Mentoring and Coaching Council.
